Autumn has a way of asking us to slow down.
That feeling is where The Turning began.
The Turning is the Autumn 2026 Edition of our Scent & Soul Society, a quarterly seasonal experience built around scent, sound, reflection and self-care.
And this Edition holds a little more meaning for us.
It marks one full year of Scent & Soul Society.
Four seasons of creating. Four opportunities to pause. A year of watching this idea grow into something many of you have chosen to make part of your lives.
So as we created The Turning, we kept coming back to two questions:
What would it look like to actually make space for the season we’re entering?
And:
How do we say thank you to the people who have continued turning with us?
The answer became an Edition filled with familiar ritual, a few new collaborations, and a special glimpse of what comes next.
The Scent of The Turning
Every Edition starts with scent.
For autumn, we didn’t want the expected pumpkin or super-sweet fall fragrance. We wanted something warm and grounding, but still bright enough to capture that feeling of transition.
So we created Falling Forward.
It opens with cinnamon, citrus and chrysanthemum, then moves into the sweetness of apple and berries layered with green leaves.
As it settles, pecan and cedar bring in that warm, earthy outdoor feeling, while an infusion of cinnamon leaf, cinnamon bark, patchouli, cedarwood, vetiver and sandalwood gives the fragrance even more depth.
Bright at first.
Warm as it develops.
Earthy and grounding when it settles.
Kind of like the season itself.
Your 9 oz Falling Forward candle becomes the anchor for the entire Edition.

One of our favorite pieces of The Turning is the Burn Book.
And no, not that kind of Burn Book.
This one is about getting some things out of your head and into a place where you can actually look at them.
Autumn is naturally a season of letting go, so we wanted to create space for you to be a little more honest with yourself.
What are you carrying that you don’t need anymore?
What have you outgrown?
What are you making room for?
What needs to stay in this season instead of following you into the next one?
You don’t have to have profound answers.
You don’t have to fill every page.
You definitely don’t have to show anyone what you write.

This year, we wanted the affirmation piece of the ritual to feel particularly special.

Give yourself 10 minutes.
That’s a ritual.
Or invite a friend over. Pour some wine. Make dinner. Put the playlist on in the background and talk about what you’re both ready to leave behind.
That’s a ritual too.
The point isn’t how you do it.
The point is that, for a few minutes, you did something intentionally.
You made some room.

The Turning arrives with the Autumn Equinox on September 21.
Scent & Soul Society follows the rhythm of the equinoxes and solstices, rather than the traditional retail calendar.
We love the idea that four times a year, nature gives us a built-in reminder:
Something is changing. Pay attention.
Each Edition captures that moment through scent, sound, reflection and a few surprises along the way.
Winter. Spring. Summer. Fall.
When the season changes, we turn the page.
And begin again.
